Fraudulent Emails regarding "lottery" for a Toyota product
Over the past several months, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A, Inc. has seen a number of emails allegedly originating with Toyota, advising the recipient that he or she has won a "lottery" for a Toyota product and requesting that the recipient provide personal information in order to claim a prize. The emails often suggest that they originate in the United Kingdom. Toyota believes that a number of these emails are fraudulent attempts to obtain money or personal information from consumers. Toyota suggests that you treat any such emails with caution and do not provide money or personal information without first verifying that source is in fact a Toyota company. If the email appears to originate within the United States, you can verify whether it is legitimate by contacting our Customer Experience Center at 1-800-331-4331.
